We are actively looking for a fullstack web engineer.

We welcome applications from both recent graduates and experienced candidates.

Key points:

  • Communication is gold. Writing code is one part of the job. Listening to users, talking to colleagues, dealing with deadlines are as important as code quality or engineering.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the Tracim software stack - frontend, backend, deployment
  • Develop and maintain the Galae software stack
  • Develop and maintain internal tools
  • Represents the company in Opensource / tech events - as attendee AND as speaker.
  • Enhance and automate all processes wherever possible an iterative way
  • Technology watch and engineering

Writing and maintaining documents, documentation, processes, etc is a important part of the job.

We are not looking for tech-disrupters but for a pragmatic engineer who will iterate small improvement steps.

Another important point is that listening to and speaking with other teams members (IT, support, business), clients and users is a key duty.

Technical stack and tasks

  • Tracim: web application based on React/JS, python, PostgreSQL and Debian GNU/Linux
  • Galae: email stack based on a mixed part of standard email-building blocks (dovecot, postfix rspamd, etc), scripting and html/php web stack
  • Internal tools and other projects: python, django, postgresql, bash, docker, debian linux, etc.
  • Client software and mobile applications are also part of the stack, based on some Rust, React Native, targetting both Linux, Windows, Android and iOS opearting systems.

Tasks involve REST APIs and sockets, frontend developement, database-related stuff, system integration, and also workstation tools developement.

The company

After 10 years of life and a growth which reached 15 people, Algoo is today a team of 5 coworkers focus on the 3 main activites:

  • Tracim software edition,
  • Galae email service,
  • 3L (Linux LifeLine) It asset management and helpdesk.

The company does not rely on investors and is self owner by its founder. Profitability is a requirement, industrialization is the path.

As a small company, Algoo expects and requires every employee to be involved in its success and in the success of each of its customers projects.

The company is not intended to grow in size but is intended to grow in profitability.

Starting with 2025, Algoo targets global market (except for 3L which stays a local french activity).

Note: the work language is french.

The perfect candidate

We do not search the perfect candidate; this description shows the "type of" candidate we are looking for.

  • curious and naturally interested in technological watch,
  • creative and innovative,
  • very good computer science and software developement culture,
  • pragmatic developer,
  • opensource addict,
  • excellent knowledge of web developement,
  • excellent knowledge of linux systems and CLI operations,
  • architecture understanding and abstraction capacity,
  • comfortable with various/heterogeneous people and teams,
  • knowledge of software engineering and industrialization (design, architecture, CI/CD, tests, forge)
  • team-player and interested in knowledge management and share
  • knowledge of the tech stack is required or at least of equivalent building block (relation databases, object oriented programming, functionnal programming, etc)
  • happy to go to events as attendee and speaker. Events may be local (AlpOSS) national (OSXP) or international (FOSDEM).

We do not expect you check all the points; we expect you match the profile globally.

You must be a growth-oriented, delivery-driven software engineer all-rounder.
